Have a question? Just prostrate it.

slowsoftsyrup asked: I intend to wear a corset long-term. I just don't know what size to start at (right now my waist is 27 inches), where I can buy a very good corset, and what I can do in it (my main concern since I'm a runner)

First of all, darlin, congratulations on even getting to the point of wanting to tightlace. How very exciting for you. Have you tried on a corset yet?

Starting size: Rule of thumb is to purchase a corset that is 4” smaller than your current waist size (for you that would mean by a 23” corset).

Starting lacing: duration over tightness is the rule. The longer you wear it even at the very loosest, the better for your body to adapt to the internal shifting.

Where you can get a corset: Depending on your city, you might be able to find a reasonable corsetiere that will custom make your garment. Just make sure they know this will be used for tightlacing. If not in a city, Puimond is a FANTASTIC corsetiere, who makes beautiful tightlacing corsets.

Also make sure you check out: http://www.staylace.com/

Fantastic corsetting resource. And, you could even aspire to become one of their corset pin-ups.

Let me know if there is anything else you have a question about. Would love to hear how things go!
